Atkins Grapefruit Diet – I Am Looking For A Grapefruit Diet

There is a diet that really has nothing to do with the Atkins Diet, called the Atkins Grapefruit diet, that combines elements of it’s famous namesake and an all grapefruit diet.

Don’t look now, but it may not be what people hope.

Atkins Grapefruit Diet ImageFirst of all it’s pretty difficult to find information on the Atkins grapefruit diet plan. Smart people know that when someone is perpetrating a deception, or a con, they will often gloss over facts.

This is what the Atkins grapefruit diet seems to do in an endeavor to get persons to link it with two supposedly effective diets.

Does the Atkins grapefruit diet have anything to do with the actual Atkins diet?

Nope – the Atkins company doesn’t mention the diet on its web site, and the most critical phase of the famous diet called the Induction phase does not allow any fruit.

The induction phase includes the following foods:

  • Any type of fish
  • Chicken, turkey and other fowl
  • Any shellfish
  • Meat, such as beef and pork
  • Any style egg
  • Cheese
  • Any vegetable you can name
  • A variety of herbs and spices
  • Fats and Oils
  • Low carbohydrate beverages including diet soft drinks

Not a piece of fruit to be found.  Grapefruit and other fruits such as fruit juices are specified in other phases of the Atkins diet.  The Atkins grapefruit diet, however, relies on grapefruit to a much greater degree than would be allowed in the original Atkins diet.

There’s a lot of grapefruit in the Atkins grapefruit diet and up to 18 carbohydrates.  But the Atkins diet calls for no more than 7 grams of carbohydrates in a day. The two diets just don’t mesh.

A smart person would immediately research the information about this at the official Atkins web site in search of the Atkins Grapefruit diet.  It starts to sound fishy when there’s no mention there.

In general remember this.  Only fad diets and diets to be followed for short periods and that rely heavily on one food because eating that way isn’t healthy.  The rudiments of the Atkins Grapefruit Diet is contrary to that of the Atkins diet.

I found this information when I did a search on “I am looking for a Grapefruit diet”.

Comments

  1. Discipline is my diet routine. I also go low on carbs and do lots of protein rich foods. I also spent lots of time in the gym. That is my routine and it works better. Grapefruits and other citrus fruits are also effective but don’t rely too much on it, still the same discipline in everything specially in eating habits is the key to lose weight.

      Hi Kyle

You are right the more variety you can add to your meals without of course adding any additional sugars will help you stay focused and interested in the diet you are on… As for the grapefruit diet it can become very boring very fast…

Thanks for this article, I think it is a great idea of doing this program of loosen weight. Grapefruit diet is good for reducing caloric intake. I like it because I am fond of juice since grapefruit diet involves eating half of grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice. It will burn fat that cause weight loss.
