Are There Any Straightforward Solutions To Reduce Weight?

It’s common knowledge that diet, cutting down on food intake, and working out, increasing calories burned, combine into a formula for weight loss.

But the hard part is sticking to a low calorie, and often bland, diet.

It won’t be 100% simple, but with a little work it sure is easier.

Here are some tricks to make it easier.

Carry a notebook to jot down everything that passes your lips. Taking notes helps you eat less. Studies show that individuals who keep track of what they eat end up eating 15% less. 15% is a lot.

Tips To Help You Reduce Weight

weight loss

The typical American consumes an additional 245 calories per day just from drinks. Switch from juice, soda, and other calorie drinks to water. 245 calories each day is nearly 90,000 calories each year. Which is 25 lbs.

Water isn’t that bad, is it? Another fact is that despite their calories, drinks like soda and juice don’t trigger a feeling of fullness the way foods do.

Eating Smaller Meals  Is Another Way To Lose Weight

Grazing, eating more scaled-down meals during the day rather than a few large meals, is another way to drop weight. Studies show that eating in smaller portions more often results in eating 30% fewer calories.

Furthermore, even the same number of calories eaten in smaller portions during more frequent meals can result in weight loss. You’re less likely to binge because the body releases less insulin.

Make sure your wardrobe only includes the “skinny” clothes.

If you usually do not have clothing that’s comfortable when you’re over weight, you’re more likely to be reminded to keep the weight off every time you dress. And you’re less likely to gain weight if doing so means having to purchase a whole new wardrobe.

Switch to smaller plates. It’s proven that people eat what’s in front of them. Smaller plates mean smaller portions, so put the salad plates into use as the main plate.

Similar to the idea of using smaller plates, serve your food on the plate rather than in bowls on the table. When the plate is empty the meal is over, instead of spooning another portion onto your plate.

Foods To Avoid For Weight Loss

Don’t eat white bread, sugar or white rice. Those are the foods with loads of carbohydrates which are known reasons to increased blood sugar and unwanted weight gain. Do eat whole grain breads and brown rice. Do not worry about the sugar, pretty soon you won’t miss it.

There are a lot of other tips for easy ways to lose weight. Don’t think it won’t take a little work. If weight loss were easy everyone would be slim all the time.

  2. I completely agree with what you wrote. People who are in diet usually skip meals and eat just once or twice a day. But when they eat, they eat big meals because they’re already too hungry. This can actually cause the body to gain more weight than lose weight. Eating smaller meals are more effective.

    Hi Fatso
That’s some great list you go there Fatso. Oatmeal is my favorite among the list. A lot of people are confused which brand to get and in my experience, the best brand to go with is the old fashioned rolled oats. It’s true that steel oats have a higher fiber source but it’s not as cheap and not as easy to find as the old fashioned rolled oats.
    thanks,

There are a lot of foods to avoid if you want to lose weight. However i think it basically depends on your calorie intake. Some people believe that staying away from donuts will help them reduce their weight however if they eat a lot of meat which contains approximately 360 calories in 3 oz of beef, it won’t help them lose weight even though they didn’t eat donuts. So it all depends on proper diet and exercise.

This is a nice post. Thanks for sharing! But can I ask one thing? I saw on TV that there is a juice drink that blocks calories.

I believe in the Power of Discipline!

When we are on diet we are sometimes tempted to eat the foods that we restrict ourselves. I have proved it to myself that with a strict diet and constant exercise I have lost weight. When the Holiday season came around, I would lay low as I craved the dinner feasts. After that season, losing weight again, huh..

      Hi Lyka

Great to hear that you can go straight back onto your diet and start losing weight again you must have some good self discipline thats for sure.

  7. Healthy diet like having fruits, green vegetables, lots of water, good sleep will help this prob out.
I have tried this n it’s really work

I strongly agree with this phrase. Its more difficult to maintain or to find other alternative solution…
Sad to say that I’m from Philippines which is our daily meals are rice and other appetite… and it makes me hard because I don’t have enough money to sustain my self by doing this method… T_T

It’s really helpful to eat more often in smaller portions. Why? Because you don’t feel hungry anytime during the day which results in increased metablosim. How do I know? Because I lost 10 pounds in last 2 weeks by doing so. Ofcourse my 15 minutes workout helped as well.

My personal trainer told me that if you feel hunger any time during the day your brains gets signal to slow down your metabolism. So I carried apples, bannanas and other fruits with me for the first week. The second week was so much easier, because I didn’t feel hungry anymore. If you want to know I eat 6-8 times a day and my calorie intake is just above 2000 calories. Little bit of workout on my elliptical trainer and 10 pounds gone!

Based on my understanding, Yes there is! And that is Investigate and Better Actions… :)

  11. The key to weight loss (body fat loss) is to do positive things to boost your metabolism. Weight training/resistance training and eating the right foods at the right time are key.

  12. The right routine/exercise is followed, with or without a good supplement, results will show. But it’s always good if you can have both the right routine and the right supplement, to ensure that you get results fast. Commit to your routines, people! Drink the right stuff!

Patience and persistence for me are the secret to achieve it…

  14. Lizzy says:

The best advice here, I think, is keeping a food journal. Writing down everything that you eat is a great way to keep track, and it’s less tempting to cheat when you have to keep a record! Great tips here.

  15. Ugh, yeah, sticking to a “bland” diet is hard, but there are lots of ways to add flavor without adding fat! Seasoning salt, low calorie dressings/sauces, and adding flavorful veggies are all great ways to supplement this kind of diet, don’t you think? :)

I highly suggest against tight cloths theory. I understand the idea but if you are not fitting into your cloths and continually depressing yourself you are more likely to give up on the diet all together. Self esteem plays a part in a healthy body image.
