The 3 Day Diet or the more popular 3 day 10lb diet as far as we can tell started back in 1985 and today can still easily be found all over the Internet and on book shelves in most popular book stores. The three day diet and its clones dictate quick weight loss, a cleaning out of you bodies system, lower cholesterol and increased energy all through a specific metabolic reaction that no version of the diet has ever medically proven.
Those that are on this 3 day 10lb diet are required to follow the program for only 3 days, with an off period of generally 5 days in between diet times.
All the versions of 3 day diet share in common obscure steps that must be followed and foods that must be consumed in order for the diet to work correctly. What better way to blame the dieter when it doesn’t work than you botched the formula and didn’t follow the rules.
First day breakfast includes coffee (no sugar), one half a grapefruit, and a slice of toast with one tablespoon peanut butter. For lunch, you are allowed a can of tuna, a slice of toast, and black coffee.
For dinner it’s 3 ounces of chicken or lean meat, one cup of green beans, one cup of carrots, one apple, and one cup of regular vanilla ice cream.
The next two consecutive days of the diet are pretty much the same in meal amounts, though the specifics change, for example Day 2 recommends two beef franks for dinner in place of three ounces of lean meat.
Apparently it’s possible to lose as much as 10lb’s in only three days hence the fashionable name 3 day 10lb diet. Even thought Health Experts all over the world recommend only two pounds a week.
Twaddle is the answer. The issue is what is a specific reaction to that claim?
There is no reliable scientific evidence that supports the so-called specific metabolic reaction. The only reason the 3 day diet would work to help a person lose fat is because of the lack of calories in the Three Day Diet. In fact, because this fad diet is so low in carbohydrates a person could drop ten pound in as little as three days.
Of course most of that would be water weight as the job of the carbohydrates is encourage the body to retain water. In case you are not aware, losing that much weight from not retaining water is very dangerous and unhealthy as the body needs water to survive some experts recommend 8 glasses a day minimum.
Because of binge eating after such starvation and because most of the fat lost is due to water, the weight will hastily return after the three days. In saying this, rapid water loss can result in some serious medical emergencies. But hey, then you would really lose some actual weight in the hospital.
If it sounds too good to be true, and looks to good to be true as with the 3 Day 10lb Diet then it usually is. The 3 day diet sounds too good to be true and should be treated as such, for those that are seriously considering losing weight then have a look at the Fat Loss For Idiots Review.
